Before I could stop him, he gave me a brief smile and unleashed a powerful spell.
A Fateful Event
When I first entered Venelux School of Magic, Elior was a world away from the other students. His calm, cool demeanor, keen insight, and genius magical skills made him the pride of the professors, always at the top of his class, while I was the one on the other side of the room, always in the spotlight for my bumbling mistakes. I was always failing Transformation, and I was always getting into trouble.
Then, one day, something catastrophic happened. During my Transformation test, I accidentally turned my proctor into a gargoyle. As the proctor turned to stone and became a flying, ceiling-hovering horror, the testing room erupted into chaos, and the gargoyle locked eyes with me and charged at me with deadly intent. Just as I thought I was dead, someone stepped in front of the gargoyle and calmly chanted. "Arcanis Umbriel Dispello!" It was Elior, his courageous voice and decisive gesture still clear in my mind. While everyone else was in a state of confusion, Elior turned the giant stone monster back into a human being with his magic, and the incident ended with Elior's wisdom and courage. After that day, Elior and I became close friends. But I didn't realize then how important this event was to me.
To Nebula Island
As the years passed, we went our separate ways. Elior graduated from the magic school and went on to higher studies as a wizard, while I utilized my aptitude for swordsmanship to become a magical swordsman. Years later, I sought to join a guild adventuring on Nebula Island, where I was reunited with Elior, who was the guild leader. A man of both magic and wisdom, Elior had grown into a man entirely worthy of leading a guild. My joy at seeing him again was indescribable, and we greeted each other as if we had returned to our childhood. With our morale boosted by the presence of so many talented guild members, we finally set out for Nebula Island.
Our journey to Nebula Island, however, was difficult from day one. Filled with traps and monsters, the island was a living hell, and our guild members fell one by one. By the time we reached the Seal Sanctuary, most of the guild had already been sacrificed. When the remaining guild members were exhausted from fatigue and fear, the worst crisis came when the giant stone soldiers appeared. The overwhelming power of the stone soldiers crushed us, until only I and Elior were left standing.
A Struggle in Despair
In the tense moment, Elior seemed to make a final decision. Before I could stop him, he gave me a brief smile and unleashed a powerful spell. It was a deadly spell that froze everything around him. As a bright light emanated from his hand, his body began to stiffen. I can still see Elior turning to stone. I can still see the look of determination and courage on his face as he gave everything to save his friend. I couldn't let it end there. I opened the magic tome he left behind and studied it, desperate to bring him back to life. It was full of incomprehensible words, but his last smile kept me going.
I figured out almost everything, but I couldn't find the final execution spell anywhere. In despair, I stared at his stone mouth and suddenly remembered the spell that Elior had chanted as a boy to turn back the gargoyle. "Arcanis Umbriel Dispello!"
I repeated the spell at Elior, and a miracle happened. The light of life slowly began to return to Elior's petrified body. His hands began to move, and finally he was whole again. We hugged each other and shed tears; he had restored most of the guild, and we had found the artifact, bringing our adventure to a perfect conclusion. Looking back, I realize that the miracle that saved us from despair was not a coincidence, but a product of friendship.
