Codex Task Type: Collection Category: Mid Nebula Island |
It was a hot and humid day. I heard a cry so I followed the voice, and I found a little Orc caught in a hunter's net. The Orc child fought me fiercely when I got close, but when I set him free, the child calmed down. When I told the him that I would take him to the Nebulaka Clan, he told me the story of Ktar, the hero of Nebulaka Clan to return the favor.
*** The Nebulaka Clan hated humans. Humans raided their villages all the time. Orc warriors fought bravely, but Humans were too strong.
Their Chief Priest has finally stood up to protect their clan. He prayed to Flamakan, and the god answered them with the fiercest warrior that Orcs ever had.
"Flamakan has answered our prayers! Our blesses warrior Ktar will protect us, and avenge our weak who already passed away!" Ktar was the strongest and biggest Orc, and everyone cheered for him. Even Humans started to avoid this monstrous Orc. Some of them tried to fight Ktar, but all ended up dead or met fate worse than death. Finally, Humans completely gave up on raiding Nebulakan Orcs. Peace was here, finally... or so Orcs thought.
After Humans were all gone, Ktar got bored and began to harass Orcs, smashing and throwing things. Children ran at the sight of Ktar, and old Orcs stayed at home to avoid him. Ktar constantly picked a fight on other Orcs, and yelled at them when Orcs criticized him.
"I am so bored! I need to fight! Fight me!" When the damage became too great, Orcs began to discuss for solutions, but there wasn't really anything they could do. One of the elder Orcs asked.
"If his problem is boredom, why don't we play with him?" "Ktar is too wild, we cannot play with him." Then, one of the Orcs came up with an idea. He collected Cracker Frog eggs and pour them on Ktar's clothing. Every time Ktar moved, eggs popped with weird farting sound. Ktar was upset, but he didn't have the time to beat up the culprit because he was too busy to clean up his clothes.
Orcs, watching this, gravely nodded and went out to find other tools of revenge... I mean, "toys." For example, an Orc brought Red Spot bees with gigantic wings and released them whenever Ktar tried to sleep to wake him up with buzzing sound. Since then, Ktar never had a dull moment with all these tortures... I mean, "jokes." He went into hiding, refusing to meet anyone. He even missed his meals.
An elderly Orc took pity on him, and brought him fish and fruits everyday. It moved Ktar, and he apologized the elderly for his bad behavior. This elderly Orc was one of the wisest and skillful one, but he never showed off. Ktar learned a lot from his modest attitude, and it changed him - into the true hero of Nebulaka Clan. ***
And finally we reached the hill that overlooks the Nebulaka village. The child said goodbye to me with a happy face, and ran to the village. |
