"Well, this is easy!" Ricky said confidently, reaching for the sanctuary's relic. Beside him, Nina looked around nervously and whispered. "Ricky, something always goes wrong when you say that..."
Ricky shrugged off Nina's warning and held up the relic. "If we sell this, we'll be rich! Hahaha!" But before Ricky could stop laughing, the relic radiated light and the sound of metal clashing could be heard.
Nina's eyes widened. She shook Ricky's arm. "Wh-what was that? Put that thing down!" I turned my head to see the Ancient Guardians coming toward us. White-faced, I shouted. "What are you doing? RUN!"
We ran, the Ancient Guardians closing in behind us. Ricky was gasping for breath but talking nonstop. "Aren't Ancient Guardians supposed to be slow?" Nina shouted, sweating profusely. "Oh, shut up and run!"
Ah, why did I ever trust these idiots and get involved in this? Regret washed over me.

Am I going to die like this? I came here with my friends to try to steal something for the first time, and this is how I end up? I yelled at Ricky. "Ricky, drop the relic! You're going to kill us all if you hold on to it!" But Ricky couldn't let go. "You want me to let go of it? It's worth a fortune!"
Just then, one of the Ancient Guardians slammed his heavy sword down on Ricky, who screamed and rolled sideways to avoid it. Nina shouted desperately. "Our lives are more important than money, you idiot!" As Ricky flinched, I added. "Ricky, throw that relic, or we're all dead!"
Ricky finally made up his mind and threw the relic at an Ancient Guardian, which landed squarely on its head with a clang, and the Ancient Guardians instantly froze in place.
And just like that, we had escaped. Catching her breath, Nina said with a serious look on her face. "Ricky, we have to stop. We're not going to live long if we keep doing this." Ricky smiled sheepishly, scratching his head. "Okay, okay, I'll be more careful next time." Nina glared. Only then, he swore there would be no next time.
The three of us stared at each other in silence for a moment, and then burst out laughing at the joy of being alive. It was time to get back to our lives. Ricky and Nina would never dream of stealing again... Maybe.
